What the clients say...

Claustrophobia

"I would like to thank you for all your help and assistance as I feel so much more positive and confident since coming to see you. I hadn't discussed my problem using public transport/travelling with anyone before and found Zoë very easy to talk to and understanding.

As I had discussed with Zoë, I would do anything to avoid travelling by tube or train. This was hard going as I would cycle everywhere (in all weathers) and mentally draining as I would have to constantly make up excuses not to travel, to friends or family. I now use the tube for all my journeys in London (using it every day) and feel calm and relaxed when I do. I especially disliked overcrowded carriages and stoppages in tunnels. I now have no problems during rush hour and couldn't care less when the train stops in the tunnels.

A week and a half ago I visited relations who live two 1/2 hours away by train. I felt fine during the trip and actually enjoyed the journey. I had made this trip previously two years before and found it so stressful that I had to have a few drinks before boarding. I am now planning other trips away and holidays.

I have also experienced benefits in other aspects of my life I had not anticipated when coming to see you. I feel more positive about life, more confident, more relaxed and generally much happier than I did. I'm also sleeping so much better. I also stopped drinking as much as I realised that this was increasing my anxiety and making me feel ill.

I did find the time line really useful especially the elements around courage, motivation and strength.

I am so pleased I came to see you and thank you again for all your help."

Stress & IBS

I went to see Zoë because I was feeling unwell, I was very stressed, had really bad IBS and my scalp hair was falling out - mainly due to work stress. After just a few sessions I feel very much better, my stomach has calmed down dramatically, I am not stressed and cope well in situations that would have got the better of me in the past. I am still hoping my scalp hair will get thicker but at least it has near enough stopped falling out which is a relief. I am much happier in myself and have realised that I can change my life for the better and have hope for the future. Zoë has empowered me to feel confident to change my job at work and realise that I deserve to have a happy and fulfilled life which I am in the process of putting steps in place to achieve."

Public Speaking

"I just wanted to let you know that my presentation went about as swimmingly as I think it could have! I did loads of preparation on the power point but only practised it once so not to scare myself too much and managed to stay calm during the whole lead up to it with only the occasional heart beat skipped! I generally felt quite relaxed and didn't get too flushed and just kept my voice quite monotone-maybe not amazingly fun to watch but managed to get across most of what I intended to. It was weird I felt like I was in a bit of a haze the whole time, not really any adrenalin rushing around which all worked to my advantage so thank you!
It made me feel like a normal person for the first time ever in a situation like that.

Thank you again."

Joanne, London

"I have been seeing Zoë for hypnotherapy since the summer to try to overcome my fear of public speaking and to improve my self-confidence and self-image. As a scientist I was initially a little sceptical about hypnosis, but because public speaking is such an important part of my job and there seemed to be few alternative approaches that appeared to address the problem so directly, I decided to give it a go. I am now a complete convert. I cannot thank Zoë enough for her help and support.

The whole experience has been both extremely positive, and I believe successful, although it is still an ongoing process. I have recently, voluntarily presented my research to my colleagues and peers in a formal setting and have also presented my work to the public during an open weekend for my institute. I would never have imagined myself capable of doing so before seeing Zoë. For any other sceptics out there, I can assure you there is no hocus pocus involved, just a very relaxing experience. Some of the places I've had to go in my mind during the process have been quite challenging at times but I couldn't imagine a kinder or more supportive person to go there with than Zoë. I have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone who feels remotely negative about themselves and wishes to change."

Sandy, London

"I presented yesterday and I was slightly (but v slightly) nervous consciously, but I think on the inside I was fine!! So thanks so much for your help, it really did give me the stability I needed for the day!

Also, on another note, after I left you I felt amazing and had a kind of expansion of consciousness, I could see things, smell things and hear things so much more vibrantly, almost like I had slowed down and was watching the world around me but at the same time getting on with things."

Lucy, Ascot

"Hi Zoë, I did some hypnotherapy with you around February or March this year to help with my public speaking. I didn't then have an opportunity to test it out because I didn't have to give any presentations at art school. However, we then did, about a month ago, and I had a go. It should have been in front of 40 people but I managed to get the teachers to allow me to do it with just six. This would have been almost impossible for me a few months ago but this time I made sure I was prepared for it and even started looking forward to it (kind of!) which is something you said would happen. During the presentation, instead of just getting hotter and hotter till I felt like I was going to explode and stumbling over my words and having to leave the room, I managed to hold it together, I started getting really flushed and flustered but after a few minutes it started to lessen! Which never happens. I wouldn't say it was the best presentation ever but I just wanted to thank you for helping me. It's happening slowly but it's definitely happening!"

Lisa, Wimbledon

"I just wanted to say thankyou sooooooo much! Have just done my presentation and although i was a bit nervous it was absolutely miles away from how I was before. I was loads more relaxed, way more myself up there and I couldn't believe how much better I felt. I wouldn't say I was a massive fan of public speaking still but it was fine doing it, no palpitations and no desire to fling myself under a bus beforehand. When i came out, one of my bosses said "you're alot more confident in your public speaking than you used to be" - obviously i just laughed and kept my secret to myself!! Thanks alot again, it is going to make my professional life so much easier going forward."

Multiple Sclerosis

"My sessions with Zoë were very beneficial. After my diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis a few months ago I was extremely low and experiencing a worsening of all my symptoms. Over the time I was seeing Zoë I was transformed from a hopeless victim into somebody who felt in control of the situation and was armed with the knowledge of how to deal with whatever my condition throws at me in the future. I was surprised at the effectiveness of working on individual symptoms. My aching legs were the first improvement and now I can walk for long distances without discomfort. Zoë's approach was very comprehensive, combining practical tips on effective techniques and the importance of diet with work on deep emotional issues. All this has contributed to my feeling much better and much more optimistic about life which is perhaps the most important change of all."

Susan, Essex

Weight Loss

"Just wanted to drop you a note as promised and let you know how much I appreciated our session a few weeks ago. It really helped to 're-set' my thinking and relax me about everything. I really took on board what you were saying about how we never slip back to where we started, but that we continue to learn and develop - the changes after the last session haven't felt nearly as radical as the first time I came to you, which really just reinforced how much of what you've said in our previous sessions has already sunk in and become my mindset. The CD is also great; its so relaxing!"

Lucy, London

"I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the sessions and how pleased that I was with myself at having the sense to deal with some things that were causing me concern. Zoë made the experience feel very worthwhile. She listens intently and tailors sessions to individual needs, which is probably what most of us are craving in such a fast moving world where many of our needs go unattended, for whatever reason. Zoë strikes a really good balance and makes you feel like you are in the hands of somebody who really knows what they are doing. "

Catherine, London

"I am doing really well since our session. I have had a few slip ups but nothing as bad as before. I am not constantly thinking about calories and what I need to do to burn things off. I have also started to close down conversations with those who make me feel more self conscious about what I should eat and what they are eating. it feels quite liberating, I have started to enjoy food again which is really nice."

Catherine, London

"The good news is that I have found my thoughts now are more about eating healthily and the urges I used to have to overeat and binge have diminished. I have still had some slip ups but as we discussed, it takes a while to change habits. So I'm feeling quite positive about this and am trying to eat sensibly and healthily and once good habits have formed I am hoping this will be for life. I do really think our sessions have helped and I find myself thinking more sensibily about whether my body needs the food I'm about to eat rather than just mindlessly eating. I also find I'm buying smaller sizes of treats, ie chocolate, when I have it and am not wanting to buy the whole shop! If I do buy myself a treat I have found I can also leave some for tomorrow, or the next day, it does not worry me like it did before where I had to eat it now, although this still feels a little uncomfortable to me. "

Jules, London

Social Anxiety

"Since our two hypnotherapy sessions I feel much less uncomfortable in intimate group situations. You may remember, I used to feel kind of paranoid after a while in each new group, fearing people might want to harm me and want to all gang up against me. I no longer feel this way. This happened gradually over the months. It feels very freeing. It must have happened as a direct consequence of the hypnotherapy. So thank you very much for the sessions. They have been very helpful."

Annabelle, Essex

Performance Anxiety and Creativity Enhancement

"I went to see Zoë because I had severe performance anxiety, which was greatly affecting my career as a musician. I was immediately struck by Zoë's warmth, honesty, commitment and her friendly but professional approach. I found I made progress straight away. It quickly became clear that my professional anxieties were linked to long-term emotional problems that had affected my adult life. These I had tried to resolve with other, longer-term therapies but with little success.

With Zoë's warmth, encouragement and great skill, I have been able to deal with some very important issues that, to be honest, I had thought I might never get over. I really feel as if I have moved into a new phase of life, one where I am much happier, more confident and in a position to realise my full potential. I'm enjoying life more! I couldn't recommend Zoë more highly."

Malcolm, London

"I want to say a big thank you for helping me gain the confidence to learn how to drive. I had been putting it off for years because I was so nervous. When I sat the test i could hear your voice in my mind, encouraging me, which I'm sure was crucial in enabling me to pass the test first time, an enormous achievement for a woman of 44!

Thanks again."

Naomi, London

Panic & Anxiety

"I had been experiencing heart palpitations for a few months before visiting my GP. This was initially attributed to my high cholesterol levels, which I tried addressing largely through diet and exercise, but the symptoms persisted. After a friend identified the problem as anxiety-related, I returned to my GP who prescribed me beta-blockers, which helped in reducing the effects.

My desire to tackle the internal roots of my anxiety led me to Zoë. After only one session I felt able to deal with the triggers in my environment in a much better way, feeling strong, confident and capable where before I had felt alone and unsupported, with a deep sense of futility. A few days after my first session I stopped taking my medication as the strength and frequency of the palpitations dramatically reduced, and this continues to be the case. My heartfelt thanks to Zoë and the amazing work she does. "

Stuart, London

"For the last few years I have had what is known as ˆØresidue anxietyˆç, this is the after-effect of a long period of panic attacks I suffered during the time between my parentsˆç splitting up and finishing university. I would have a panic attack every day for a period of two years, which really made life a struggle. When they finally disappeared as my life got back on track, a day never went by when I didnˆçt fear having another one, or think about that horrible period in my life.

I chose to see Zoë through recommendation and I really haven't looked back since. Zoë has not only helped me to deal with my past and realise that it really was OK and normal to have the feelings I experienced, but has also given me hope for the future, which always seemed so scary before. I now feel like a new, stronger person with the ability to look forward and make decisions in my life without feeling frightened or anxious. It is an amazing feeling and prior to my sessions thought I would never feel like this again! I would recommend Zoë to anyone. She is a true professional and a supportive caring individual. "

Zoë, London

Self-Esteem and Confidence

"During a difficult period in my life I felt as though all the negative experiences I had ever suffered were affecting me all at once.

I decided that it was better to try and find a way to cope with these subsequent feelings and thought Hypnotherapy might be a way to achieve this.

The sessions with Zoë have left me feeling much more positive and optimistic about myself. I feel more in control of my life and more understanding of who I am as a person.

As a result my relationships with other people are stronger, I am more successful with my work, and most importantly I like myself more.

I cannot recommend Zoë highly enough to anyone considering Hypnotherapy, she is committed and focused to helping people move forward with their lives."

Jason, Stockwell

"I commenced hypnotherapy/NLP sessions to try and ascertain why I had so little self-worth and could not understand how anyone would love and respect someone with such a low self-opinion.

After each session with Zoë, I found an increasing sense of direction, hope and inspiration to move my life in new ways. I didn't set out on any journey to 'find myself', but thanks to Zoë, that's what appears to be happening! I feel I have started to rediscover an identity that has been submerged for many years and I’m feeling increasingly positive about myself as a person as a result.

I have found great benefit in revisiting past issues and experiences with Zoë's help, finding clarity and meaning in my past actions which are helping to form a better future for me. On a social basis, I am learning to be less critical of myself and my actions, and find myself looking forward to events in my life with less fear and more courage. "

Grace, East London

"My main reason for using hypnotherapy was to give my self-confidence a boost. After two sessions I could feel a real difference. I now feel capable of achieving things I've always wanted to do, I donˆçt feel anxious anymore when in social places. I have also lost my 'always tiredˆç feeling. Most of all, I'm accepting myself which is a major thing. I would recommend hypnotherapy with Zoë to friends."

Pierre, London

"For many years I've sought the courage and direction to stop hiding from life and to be completely honest with myself. I've tried many different types of therapy (including twice-weekly - expensive! - psychotherapy) and I'm now absolutely convinced that hypnotherapy is the only way to go.

There is no doubt that Zoë cares deeply about my well-being and progress. It's obvious that she spends time preparing for my sessions and puts much thought and consideration into the best way forward for my individual development. She is professional, but without compromising warmth, care and support. I trust Zoë implicitly and feel that I am being 'held' every step of the way. She is extremely devoted to her work and to her clients' development.

Zoë's work with me has been more successful than I ever imagined. I have opened up in such a way that I feel a great sense of liberty, new-found confidence and a certainty that everything will be all right. My outlook on life is so much brighter now and my growth continues. What would my life be like now if I hadn't made that first appointment? I can't imagine."

Tam, Bethnal Green

"NLP was advised to me by a homeopath who felt it would help me overcome my issues of low self-esteem and confidence. Zoë was recommended by a friend and was totally understanding, reassuring and positive about being able to help me. My second session seemed to work brilliantly - partly because I was prepared and more relaxed about following my session the week before, and secondly because I really began to respond to the visual imagery my mind was creating prompted by Zoë's triggers. Since my third and final session I've noticed a real change: I'm happier, calmer and full of positivity about my abilities and my approach to life in general. I can recommend Zoë with 100% confidence in her ability."

Kate, Putney

Self-Esteem & Depression

"I'm quite literally stunned by the extraordinary power of the therapy with Zoë.

"I always hoped that somehow something somewhere would work. I was working 12 step programme since the 1980s and was hopelessly lost. I was being treated for mental illness since early 1990s and with anxiety since 1978. I had six rounds of electric shock treatment for depression in the 1990s and despite being a graduate of a unique university I had never been healthy enough to hold any kind of job for more than a few weeks or months. I was a prisoner of the constant blame and shame and guilt and emotional enmeshments and physical and mental violence of my childhood back in the 1960s.I lived in constant terror of the slightest effort to help myself , and I knew I could explode in a horrible rage with the slightest provocation. 36 sessions with a clinical psychologist had helped a lot but not enough. I had to be accompanied to Harley Street to see Zoë for the first three visits. Amazingly my life opened up. An urban horticulture project offered me a position developing an organic vegetable garden in central London. My thinking became clear and I saw almost for the first time the effects of my self critical and self hate tendencies. People who know me are stunned. The return of my physical energy is also remarkable. I can now enjoy a kind of life I could only have dreamed of. I am discussing the possibility of taking up a position in the south of France as a tour guide in a major Buddhist monastery. Exactly the place where I can grow and share my good luck with others.

"I would recommend Zoë's services to anybody who wants to change or even anyone who wants to want to change for the better.

Ian - London

"Zoë is a very professional and intuitive practitioner, who uses a variety of skills for the best interest of her clients. She has helped me on many occasions with her warmth, experience and care to address my personal issues and I have every confidence in her ability. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is on a journey of self healing, whether it's for your emotional or physical health.

TM - Essex

"I was recommended by a friend at a very low emotional time following a bereavement. This dug up past experiences that I had never dealt with. I've had one on one counselling sessions in the past, but I always felt as if I was telling a story about my experiences which i could repeat endlessly. With Zoë, hypnotherapy helped me emotionally deal with them and move on. All of my life I have suffered with low self esteem and low confidence never allowing my self to feel proud of anything I have achieved, but now I feel lighter and brighter, confident and positive. I have just passed my theory driving test thanks to a session I had with Zoë. I feel proud of myself and I am looking forward to achieving all the other things in life that I used to tell myself I couldn't do."

Pamela, East London

"I went to Zoë at a point in my life where I was at my lowest emotionally. I tried psychotherapy, counselling and other hypnotherapy but with no satisfactory long-term results. I have battled all my life against very low self-esteem which has stopped me from having friends, relationships and doing normal everyday things which most people would take for granted. Before I went to see Zoë I was actually feeling most of the that my life was not worth living.

After the first session I knew she was going to make a real and positive difference to my life, and she has. The sessions with Zoë are amazing and through her use of hypnotherapy and healing I have been able to turn my life around totally."

Maria, Wood Green

"Unsure of what NLP and hypnosis would actually entail, I decided to contact Zoë to find out. Through a succession of meetings I felt a constant improvement developing with my psychological well-being; my ability to put to rest, understand and resolve the personal issues and anxieties which had created an overload of burden upon my daily thoughts and emotions. Ties with some damaging past experiences and their ill effects were taken away. Consequently, I can now move forward with clearer comprehension, confidence and enthusiasm for life ahead. The mind fog and pain is clearing."

Relationship Issues

Hi Zoe, Just wanted to say, thanks so much for the session there is a real improvement in my relationships with both my brothers... Amazing!

Sandy - Barcelona

"I am 32 years old and I never really had a serious, long term , intimate relationship. Not that I had problems meeting men, but it never felt right. They all just weren't "good" enough and I was sure , that the right one, the one and only will pass my way at some point and I will know instantly. So I went from one short dating to the next one.

My friends always were impressed, how I met all these great guys and that my life is always so exciting etc... but all this restlessness and commitment phobia didn't really fulfil me. And whenever it seemed to get serious I lost interest again and was on the hunt for something/someone else. It was always the same pattern over and over again. It seemed like something suddenly switched, like an inner voice that told me why that guy again wasn't the right one for me... I could see it and kind of explain why that happened, but I couldn't change it alone.

A lot of men in my life when I was growing up, that were important to me either disappeared or died without any explanation. So there was a lot of past stuff, that had to be cleared, a lot of healing and replacing old patterns of thoughts to new ones.

Zoe is amazing and so talented. I felt straight away that she understood me and that I could trust her. The clearing and healing was quite challenging, but I am so happy, that I finally worked on it and got it all out. Something really changed. I feel like a butterfly now, in its whole magnificence unfolded, I feel like everything beautiful and all that love inside me is finally showing and coming out.

I can't thank Zoe enough for working with me, helping me to trust again in men and in me and to understand, believe and appreciate finally that it is safe to love and to be loved."

Greta, Germany

"Thank you very much for this evenings session. I feel the most relaxed and calm that I've felt in ages. I had forgotten what it feels like to be totally at ease with a feeling of complete peace. I feel something has lifted or shifted. I'm not sure what, but I do feel quite different for the better"

Ben, London

"I first went to see Zoë in order to help me move away from a long and destructive relationship. Zoë really got to the heart of the problem and helped me deal with the cause as opposed to the symptom only. After only a few sessions I felt more confident and positive about life in general and have finally given up my bad habit!!!"

Tina, London

Relationship Issues & Self-Esteem

"A friend recommended that I see Zoë. I had recently had quite a lot of troubles which piled together and were bringing me down, like the bad boyfriend that reduced me to a wreck and the sudden death of my wonderful mum, which was a terrible shock. I just felt like life was one bad turn after another. I really had had enough.

The catalyst, which finally made me contact Zoë, was my relationship. I always seemed to put up with being treated badly and one horrible incident with my partner was the final straw. I always had this overwhelming desire to please, be liked and be loved – by anyone, not just my boyfriends. I didn’t tend to worry about the people that did like or love me, only the ones that didn’t.

When I first met Zoë I just sat down in front of her and cried. She asked all the right questions. When she asked me how long had I felt like this, it dawned on me, always. Zoë completely understood everything I said and felt, she helped me understand firstly why I felt this way and why I responded the way I did in certain situations, then how to deal with them so I could change how I reacted and in turn how I felt about myself.

My confidence has improved dramatically and I have a strong desire to stand up for myself. When I have a bad day I don’t feel depressed about it, I just think I got out of the wrong side of the bed."

Sally, London

Fear of Flying

"I'm back from my holidays and had a fantastic flight both there and back. The more amazing thing about the outgoing flight was that we were asked if we would be willing to take a later flight for a compensation of £600! Not only did we accept this offer, I was also in a fit psychological state to suggest a flight to an alternative airport which went at the same time and was in fact much nearer to our final destination. British Airways even laid on a taxi for the final 100 km of the journey. I was obviously giving out very good vibes that day!

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks again for all your help; I'm planning the next trip already."

Georgia, London

"I wanted to thank you for getting me on a plane and manage to stay calm during two rather difficult flights, I really don't think I could have done it otherwise."

Madeline, Southend

"When I attended the hypnotherapy session with Zoë I was very sceptical with regards to the impact it would have on me. I suffered from an extreme fear of flying, and had never tried any alternative therapy before.

After a double session with Zoë I was able to board the plane to Mauritius and attend my friend's wedding, something I didn't think would be possible. A year later, the thought of flying does not scare me. I can recommend Zoë to others with confidence."

Chris, Chiswick

Habit Removal

"Dear Zoë,

Well it's been three weeks since our session to rid me of my nasty habit and I'm glad to report that so far all is well and it hasn't reappeared. I must admit that after the session I was not entirely convinced that I'd made any change but I soon began to realise that I was recognising when I was about to pick at my fingers and, on noticing, realised that I had no desire to continue. So, all-in-all I am very pleased with the results and thank you very much."

Alain, London

Stopping Smoking

I just want to let you know that I'm still not smoking and that this time it worked (the free back-up session) - thank you! The proof of it is in the fact that I have had an incredibly stressful few weeks and am loosing my job - and despite this am not smoking - hooray!

Natalia - London

"Dear Zoë,

I just wanted to express my many thanks for your help with my giving up smoking.

If you are thinking of quitting using hypnotherapy, I thoroughly recommend this method. Zoë’s confidence that I would give up really helped.

I had wanted to give up smoking after having been a 'social smoker' on and off for over 10 years.

Although I didn't smoke during the week, I more than made up for the quantity of cigarettes smoked at the weekend.

I had two sessions. The first one worked well but I felt I needed further reinforcement as I found I was starting to go back to my old ways once I had had a few drinks and my defences were down. This was not a problem as Zoë offers a second complimentary session. The second session worked really well.

I am very pleased that I now socialise without even thinking about having a cigarette or even a sly puff of someone else's! I can honestly say that I have had no cravings for a cigarette.

In fact, the whole thing seems very alien to me and I can hardly believe I ever smoked!"

Nasrin, London

"Dear Zoë,

I wanted to give you some feedback after my smoking cessation session with you.

I wanted to extend my heartfelt thanks for your support and for helping me to quit smoking. The result was and remains truly amazing. Immediately after my appointment I remembered that my husband had run out of cigarettes and when I passed a newsagent I went and bought him ten cigarettes. It didn't occur to me at all that I should want or need one myself.

I have quit smoking twice before. The fist time, with no support at all, lasted two years, the second time, with nicotine chewing gum, lasted five. On both occasions a stress-related incident led me to start again. Your therapy has been amazing as it really has removed the mental imagery that is usually the cause of temptation and often defeat in the early stages of quitting. There is a total disassociation between mind and what the body feels it needs. The most amazing and different thing I have found with hypnotherapy/NLP is that the mind body separation has also stopped the agitation and irritability which previously happened as part of the withdrawal process."

Jenny, London

"I gave up smoking after over 10 years on the 5th of January 2004 with hypnotherapy from Zoë Clews. I tried a number of different methods but Zoë managed to really get to the core of why I was smoking which finally broke the addiction.

One of my fears about giving up was putting on weight but I can honestly say that I didn't put on an ounce. In fact, I have felt far more compelled to exercise and generally live a healthy life style."

Emily, Islington

Insomnia

"Thanks so much for the session yesterday. I slept like a baby, and I could just observe how anxious I would get just as I was about to fall asleep. It was interesting to observe the feeling...

I feel good today, and happy... Thank you so much.

Susan, Berkshire
